Solvolysis Solutions for a Greener Planet
This section provides answers to commonly asked questions, helping users find the information they need quickly and easily.
Why Solvolysis?
Designed for non-mechanically recyclable materials
High level of process automation
Scalable from pilot to industrial deployment
Suitable for mixed and synergistic waste streams
What’s the Mechanical Recycling disadvantage
Mixed polymer composition
Fibre bonding and additives
Degraded material quality
What else Solvolysis can do
Soloop is actively developing additional solvolysis lines for:
- Polyester
- Nylon / Polyamide
Once deployed, these technologies will enable a comprehensive chemical recycling solution for:
- Carpet waste
- Mixed textile waste
- Complex polymer blends
This multi-polymer approach allows maximum material recovery from a single waste stream.
How It Works
This section explains the step-by-step process, helping users understand how to get started and make the most of the product/service.

Step One: Getting Started
Carpet/Textile needs to be shredded to reduce the size for feeding the process
Step Two: Blend
The shredded materials will be blended with solvent under a proper temperature and pressure for certain time to make sure the PP/PET/PA has fully react with solvent.
Step Three: Separation
Solvent then will carry the material through a mesh-separation process, residue will be taken out and then PP/PA/PET will be separated, at the same time, solvent will be recycled and reuse again for the next cycle.
Environmental Responsibility with Soloop
This section highlights key resources designed to support learning and development in various fields.
Quality
Recycled Polypropylene from Soloop will be 99% alike virgin material, from carpet PP can be used back to carpet industry directly.
Quantity
This pilot machine can process 500 Mt annually. With scale up, the capacity can reach 5000/50000 Mt annually.
Process
The whole process is fully automated and monitored controlled remotely.
